🎯 Use Cases

Example

Input
start: 2026-07-22
end: 2026-07-25
Output
start: 2026/07/22
end: 2026/07/25

With "Use regex" and "Replace all" turned on, setting the find pattern to (\d{4})-(\d{2})-(\d{2}) and the replacement to $1/$2/$3 uses the captured groups ($1·$2·$3) to reformat every YYYY-MM-DD date into YYYY/MM/DD at once.

Regex pattern cheat sheet

Beyond literal replace, it supports regular expressions. Frequently used patterns:

PatternMeaning
\dOne digit (0-9) — \d+ matches runs of digits
\wWord character — \w+ matches a word
\sWhitespace, tab or newline
(pattern)Capture group — referenced as $1 in the replacement
Flag gGlobal — replace every match, not just the first
Flag iCase-insensitive matching

FAQ

What regex syntax does it use?
It uses standard JavaScript regular expression syntax. Group references (like $1) can also be used in the replacement string.
Can I search case-insensitively?
Yes. Turn on the "Case-insensitive" option to match regardless of letter case.
Is my text sent to a server?
No. All replacement happens entirely in your browser.
What does $1 mean in the replacement?
A back-reference to a capture group — e.g. (\d{4})-(\d{2}) → $2/$1 swaps year and month.
How do I match a literal dot or bracket?
Escape regex specials with a backslash — \. \( \[. Turning regex off searches literally.
