๐Ÿ“ก My IP Address

Check your current IP address and approximate location.

How does this work?

When your browser requests this page, we show you the connecting IP, country, and city that the Cloudflare edge server sees โ€” no extra external API calls, and the lookup result isn't stored anywhere. The address shown is your public IP โ€” the address that identifies your connection to the wider internet โ€” which is different from the private IP your router assigns to each device on your home network (usually in the 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x range). Servers, VPNs, and proxies you connect to only ever see this public IP.

๐ŸŽฏ Use Cases

Example

Input
Open this page (no input needed โ€” your IP is detected automatically)
Output
8.8.8.8
Mountain View, California, US
Google LLC (AS15169)

No text entry is required โ€” just opening the page shows your current IP along with its approximate location and ISP/network operator (ASN). The values above are an illustrative example for the public DNS address 8.8.8.8; when you visit, your own IP and location appear instead. The AS number (Autonomous System Number) identifies which carrier or organization manages that IP range, which is how we determine your ISP.

Public IP vs. Private IP

TypeRangeShown by this tool?
Public IPUnique across the entire internetโœ… Yes โ€” this is your external address
Private IP192.168.0.0 โ€“ 192.168.255.255โŒ No โ€” internal router address only
Private IP10.0.0.0 โ€“ 10.255.255.255โŒ No โ€” common on office/corporate networks
Private IP172.16.0.0 โ€“ 172.31.255.255โŒ No โ€” some routers/virtual networks

If you run an IP-check command on your own computer (ipconfig on Windows, ifconfig on Mac/Linux), you'll see one of the private ranges above. That's just your router's internal address โ€” to be reached from outside, you need the public IP this page shows.

FAQ

What IP shows up if I'm using a VPN?
If you're using a VPN or proxy, you'll see the VPN server's IP and location, not your real connection's IP. Disconnect the VPN and refresh to see your original IP again.
Do multiple devices on the same home network show the same IP?
Yes. Every device sharing one router (PC, phone, tablet) goes out to the internet with the same public IP. Only the internal private IPs differ per device.
Is this information stored on a server?
No. It's computed on the fly for each request and only the response is returned โ€” nothing is stored, and no logs are kept.
How accurate is the location shown?
It's an approximate location based on Cloudflare's IP range data. City-level accuracy is usually reliable, but it can differ from your real location by tens of kilometers depending on how your ISP (especially mobile carriers) routes traffic.
